Power of the Wolf
by Tamara Smith
No man on earth can run with anticipation to travel and
hunt like you do,
no man can smell the breath of the rivers like you do,
we take what we want out of life for granted
but you live from day to day for survival in an open range
and for your future coming children.
You can see a man's pride shinning from a distance
as he turns away from the sun,
and despite all that a man can see during the day
doesn't compare with what you can see in the night,
and when a man thinks his pain has just begun
and is lost you're the one who has found it.
No man can touch the winter and know it for what
it's worth like you do,
and even though we sometimes hate what we don't understand
you still carry on through out all of the seasons of
the year.
In the Depth of the Heated Soul
by Lou Struckmann
The armadillo's shell is hard, and strong, like woman
she wishes she could be
Her underbelly protected, who will protect her from
the world that she sees
Together we can find the forces of the sparrows
peering glances
Sparrow aerial view of armadillo life long passage,
dances
Together we can be, take my shell for granted and
underbelly you'll never see
Snout smell precise, insects have no chance, dig deep
through the burrows and roots of the trees
